In the subcompact categories, the Toyota Yari’s line of cars is getting run out by the newer ones, more on-the-edge competitors such as the Honda Fit, Ford Fiesta and Mazda 2. To get back on the current of fame, Toyota has revamped the 2012 Toyota Yaris hatchback (or liftback in Toyota slang), supplying more life to its larger, stylistic and content heavy small car. Seeing in the economy of the rise of the sedan industry, Toyota has killed it all, offering only a 3-door and 5-door hatch. The target market of the Yaris is the new breed of generations, luring them with its high-tech audio and featuring its amplified communication system, and attractive stylish design. What to expect again? The 2012 Toyota Yaris hatchback have undergone a complete makeover, new sheet metal, a longer wheelbase, and a new interior.

The Yaris is just what you have expected with the hatchback, but with few surprises. Its 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine uses a variable-valve timing system, with dual-overhead camshafts, rated at 106 hp. A light but almost effortless feel to the Yaris’ steering and during moderate acceleration; but, the engine feels like it is a bit strained when forced to deliver more. But all these things get a bit livelier on the SE trim, which, although it does not have more power when it comes its engine, delivers more comfort and a better steering response and a more controlled ride. Speaking of the fuel economy, it comes in the mid high 30s, which just proves that it is already near to top of its class. Although the Yaris has a bit of some problem in regards to its horsepower. To list with its closest competitor is the Honda Fit, which has 11 more horsepower compared to the Yaris, and the Kia Rio with the additional 22.  This may not seem to make some impact but if you are interested upon its quickness and responsiveness, the Yaris may fail to impress.

One of the features that do not fail everyone is its Bluetooth. It is available on all trims, this device makes it safer to drive and to talk to your phone simultaneously and should be standard when it comes to the vehicle industry. And did we forget to mention that the interior is a bit of contradiction to its stylistic exterior design? While the design is a superb example of clean and modern, the materials seem to look low-budgeted which as the colors muted gray and black plastic bits made manifest into its physique. But on the lighter tone, the 2012 Toyota Yaris maybe give an illusion of a bit roomy regarding being dubbed as a small car. The Yaris also manifests comfort. The vehicle includes a nice, thick grip 3-spoke adjustable steering wheel with a flat bottom to make the entry and exit a bit comfortable. Audiophiliacs will love the standard USB and auxiliary input ports, to include also the AM/FM stereo with MP3/WMA CD compatibility.

This car is fit if you are looking for small, economical car that is more fun to drive.
