As we all know, Honda doesn’t build exciting cars. Honda builds reliable cars. And that is a fact. Maybe you guys have owned at some point in your life automobiles courtesy by Honda. If you are a car enthusiast and it’s been rooted deep within you, you may have seen that this Japanese automaker is slowly getting better at delivering designs that doesn’t look like at its past models and more appealing to its consumers. Honda cars are built to be incredibly fuel efficient and practical. The 2013 Honda CR-V gets all the characteristics of the latter, and while it is an excellent car for families and those looking for spacious cargo trunks, its tired design might turn off a few compared to a more vibrant that exists.

Interior

The moment you stepped-in in the new CR-V you are then backtracked to the classical times where function routinely triumphs over form. Honda has put the CR-V’s interior form with a utilitarian mindset and it definitely shows. Everything is simple: from the flat bottomed and backed front and rear seats, to the large, blocky center console separated between the passenger and driver side. Simplicity doesn’t always turns out to bad. The 2013 Honda CR-V is so spacious that you’d be forgiven to think that you are riding in a much larger vehicle. Getting back to that utilitarian mindset, Honda has installed wide array of storage compartments, the most practical of which is located between the two front seats.

Technology

In addition to its practical sensibilities, the automobile boasts useful amount of cabin tech where drivers will surely appreciate. Atop the cabin’s dashboard is where you can find seated an Intelligent Multi-Information Display (I-MID) that relays information, such us your current fuel economy, turn-by-turn directions to name a few. Located in the center console is where you can find Honda’s navigation unit and touchscreen LCD display, at its side you can find an array of buttons for more frequently used functions, so for instance, swapping between navigation, audio, FM/AM, etc. There are many technologies that are embedded in the all new 2013 Honda CR-V but these are the highlights to boast upon so far.

Exterior

The 2013 CR-V has more facelifts. Undoubtedly, the past CR-V is boxy, boring, and banal in styling, but you guys will definitely agree that the new CR-V is the sexiest version yet – but it still lacks the charisma in presence which most of its competitors has. She might not be as gorgeous as the Ford Escape, but she’s elegant enough to introduce to your friends and family.

Powertrain

Describing the 2013 Honda CR-V’s drivetrain in one word, the word “adequate” will fit in. Revving the engine is a 2.4-liter i-VTEC inline four-cylinder, capable of pumping out a modest 185 hp and 163 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel-drive comes standard, while more industrious types can opt for all-wheel-drive. Fuel economy is the real standout feature on the 2013 CR-V. EPA estimates sees the front-wheel-drive CR-V net 21 mpg in the city, 31 mpg on the highway, and a combined mpg of 26.

Honestly, the CR-V does what it is meant to and does it well. You won’t hate it, you won’t love it, but you will be definitely satisfied by it.
