Kia just recently announces the coming of their new flagship rear-drive sedan named K9 for the Korean domestic market and “Quoris” outside Korea.

Kia plans to put the units on sale by the fourth quarter of 2012.

According to Kia the name Quoris is derived from the English word “core” and “quality”. The word “Quoris” conveys solidity, luxury and high-technology, all resonating together as a chorus.

“Our decision to give this striking new sedan an unconventional name means it will stand out even further from the established crowd,” said Thomas Oh, Kia’s Executive Vice President & COO of the International Business Division, in a press release.

The Kia’s new flagship sedan will be loaded with available features like full adaptive cruise control, collision warning and mitigation system, blind spot detection and lane departure warning, and a multi-camera system.

Kia Quoris new aspects that haven’t been seen before is the heads-up display screen. The HUD availability is not clear enough but it will be the first impression feature that will help this sedan set apart from the crowded luxury market. One of the pictures shows a full-colored HUD (Heads-Up on Display) screen that shows the information for the adaptive cruise control, navigation and vehicle speed and most likely there’s even more.

Interior of the new Kia Quoris looks like it featured more natural lighting, opposing to the stylized images of the Kia K9 we’ve seen before, also they made the cabin look, feel and color combination different. When it comes to the outside of the car, it will offer full LED headlights and a new set of stylish multi-spoke wheels with painted inserts.

Kia Quoris will most likely the same with the Kia K9 in terms of performance and will be available with a 3.3 liter V6 engine which delivers 296 horse power and a 3.8 liter V6 churning out 329 horse power. Both linked to have an eight-speed automatic transmission rear wheel driving.
